This was the painting which lead me to my mature style of mixture of bold brush strokes and delicate pencil lines. It also inspired my project "The Crossroads of Style".
The idea behind this painting is to:
1). Utilize strong, bold black brush strokes and neutural metallic colors to accentuate the androgyny of the body and the pose.
2). Use severe pencil lines and strong pastel shadow to add harshness and masculinity to the otherwise lean and petite body.
3). Highlight the beauty of brush strokes of various weights.
4). Create a sense of movement with the flow of the white lines in the shadow and the aggressiveness of the brush strokes.
